Urgent Issue: Foreign Gifts, National Security Risk, & Constitutional Violations
To: Sen. Banks, Rep. Messmer, Sen. Young
From: A constituent in Mount Vernon, IN
May 14
I am writing as a concerned citizen deeply alarmed by credible reports that President Trump is receiving a $400 million luxury aircraft from Qatar and retrofitted as a future Air Force One. Combined with his history and current arms deals with Saudi Arabia and financial entanglements with foreign governments, this raises urgent questions about national security, constitutional violations, and the potential for emoluments clause violations or foreign influence.
These actions suggest possible bribery, conflicts of interest, and serious risks to our government’s independence. If these reports are accurate, they are not only unethical — they are illegal, against the constitution, and dangerous.
I urge you to:
• Investigate any foreign gifts or financial arrangements tied to Trump or his administration • Demand transparency and accountability for any aircraft retrofit costs passed to taxpayers
• Introduce or support legislation to prevent foreign governments from influencing U.S. officials through gifts or deals • Speak out publicly to protect the rule of law and national security
Our democracy depends on public trust, integrity, and adherence to the Constitution. Please take immediate steps to address this growing threat.
