I’m writing to ask you to oppose SB 1361, which would undo the fight to make California more affordable. When SB 79 passed last year it was one of the greatest accomplishments that California has done to incentivize new housing near high-quality transit stations, which would reduce housing prices for Californians and improve our environment and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. In my opinion, it didn’t go far enough, but it was a good start. Now, Senator Durazo proposes to roll that back, by exempting a vast swathe of current and future transit stations from SB 79 requirements. I urge you to not take a step back on fighting for affordable housing for California. Please oppose SB 1361.
