I am writing as a constituent to ask that you issue a public statement affirming our strong support for Canada, the Canadian Armed Forces, and the NATO alliance. Our countries share a long history of military cooperation and joint defense, from World War II to Canada's critical role in NATO and the War on Terror following 9/11. Recent public statements belittling Canada's contributions and military standing undermine our key alliance and disrespect the sacrifices made by Canadian troops alongside American forces. I urge you to publicly reaffirm the vital importance of the US-Canada partnership and our commitment to NATO.
