The proposed $90 Medicare rebate is an insult to the people actually bearing the cost of this administration's tariff policies. I'm on a Medicare Advantage plan — not by choice, but because Ohio's Republican-controlled state government forced me onto it due to my pre-existing conditions. That means I get nothing. Zero. Meanwhile, I'm watching $150 to $200 come out of my Social Security check every single month to cover Medicare costs that keep climbing.
If you want to actually help Medicare beneficiaries, send a real check to every single person on Medicare — including those on Medicaid and Medicare Advantage — that reflects what we're genuinely paying. And while you're at it, where is the tariff relief for working people? Every trip to the grocery store, every household purchase costs more because of these trade policies, and the people absorbing those costs aren't corporations. They're retirees and low-income families living on fixed incomes. A $90 check for some people doesn't come close to making us whole. Do better.
