We need a State Run Health Insurance System, and we needed it YESTERDAY.

To: Sen. Reyes, Gov. Newsom, Asm. Ramos

From: A constituent in San Bernardino, CA

February 10

Ill keep it simple, we need a State Run Healthcare Insurance System. The federal government is taking too long and getting the whole country on board is exhausting. California can and should lead the way. It needs to involve comprehensive coverage, options for families, single people, wards of state, AND undocumented people. We cant be a healthy state if large populations of our people are going to work ill and spreading that illness to others. Covid hobbled us, what future pandemic needs to hit us before you all get to work and lead your colleagues to sponsor, write, and sign into law something that makes employee attached healthcare a thing of the past in this state... and perhap someday soon, our whole country. Let me remind you of an important event with high risk for public health disaster. The Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics, this event will likely be the biggest modern Olympics the world has ever seen with 10s of millions attending and traveling to SoCal. We can not be behind the curve for these moments. Please, ACT NOW, mobilize your offices, and create policy that your constituents need. Let me remind you all, your inaction provokes my action. Midterms are coming, dont let us down.
