Your role is vital in ensuring that the voices of your constituents are not drowned out by fear-mongering or political gamesmanship. I urge you to: Publicly and forcefully reject any policies or rhetoric that promote fascism, extremism, or the undermining of democratic norms. Advocate for policies that protect voting rights, human rights, and the rule of law. Be visible, outspoken, and proactive in countering misinformation and divisive narratives that threaten the fabric of our democracy. Support legislation that upholds the values of justice, economic security, healthcare access, and climate action—issues that Oregonians care deeply about. Your constituents are watching, and we expect leadership that is courageous, principled, and unrelenting in the fight for democracy.
