Reject House budget cutting vital social programs

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Reschenthaler

From: A verified voter in Crabtree, PA

March 12

The proposed House budget resolution would devastate vital social programs like Medicaid that millions of Americans rely on for their health and well-being. Cutting $2 trillion from these essential services in order to finance massive tax breaks for the wealthiest individuals and corporations is unconscionable and runs counter to our nation's values of compassion and shared responsibility. We cannot allow billionaires to further enrich themselves at the cost of stripping away the safety net for vulnerable communities. This misguided resolution sacrifices the security and dignity of ordinary citizens in favor of further entrenching economic inequality. Maintaining a robust social safety net is not only a moral imperative, but an investment in the strength and resilience of our society as a whole. I urge you to forcefully reject this budget proposal and instead champion policies that uplift all Americans, not just the privileged few at the top. Our nation's budgetary priorities must reflect our highest ideals of justice, equity and care for one another.
