A MOU has been executed for the transfer of the Qatari 747 to the US Department of Defense. The US taxpayers will spend hundreds of millions of dollars retrofitting it for use as Air Force one. Apparently, the MOU still calls for the plane to be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library after he's out of office. What possible use is there for a plane like that at a library? The plane needs to stay under control of the DOD and be used for the benefit of the American taxpayers. Once it has reached its useful lifespan, it can then go to the library. There is no doubt that after 2027, Trump will find a way to make use of that plane for his own benefit if the terms of the MOU remain in place. This is a bribe that will become a grift and a shameful slap in the face to taxpayers.
