National mandatory federal state-state law requiring open source electricity ! This bill is to end the exclusive territory rule and make electric service open to any provider, open source where anyone can jump in. it is safe to say that this system in 1930s law gave co-ops exclusive areas to avoid duplicate lines when rural areas had no power. That made sense 90 years ago, but now it locks out competition and this is IN ALL OF THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA NATIONS This old system stops places like my municipally Prosperity SC from offering electricity even if they can. This bill would repeal and renew the current systematic laws Nationally; Changes all states codes that grants exclusive service territories to rural electric co-ops. It would replace it with language saying any licensed utility, municipality, or co-op can serve any customer who requests service, as long as they meet safety and technical standards. No provider gets permanent ownership of an area. That way customers pick who they want, and the old monopoly structure goes away. Makes everything more balanced and fair to our justice and liberty of freedoms system.
