I am writing to urge you to oppose further military action in Iran, especially landing American troops there. Iran is not an imminent threat to American, and another war in the Middle East won't make us safer or more prosperous.
Instead, redirect that war spending to Americans who need it. If this Republican administration can spend a billion dollars a day on war, it can spend a billion dollars a day fixing problems at home.
We spent trillions in Iraq and Afghanistan with nothing to show for it except dead Americans and broken communities. Meanwhile, our infrastructure crumbles, families can't afford rent or healthcare, and entire towns have been abandoned by an economy that doesn't work for many working people.
Imagine what a billion dollars a day could do here. That's new bridges, affordable housing, drug treatment programs, job training, and support for the Americans this government has left behind.
Diplomacy costs a fraction of what bombs cost. My wife and I urge you to choose Americans over endless war in the Middle East.
