I'm writing to you not as a political expert or activist, but as a mom and a working professional who is deeply afraid of what Donald Trump's proposed global tariffs could mean for our economy—and for my ability to provide for my kids.
Tariffs may sound like a distant policy decision, but to people like me, they hit close to home. I work hard to support my family, and every dollar counts. Global tariffs can increase the cost of goods, trigger retaliatory trade wars, and disrupt supply chains. That means higher grocery bills, increased prices on everyday items, job instability, and ultimately, fewer resources for my children’s needs.
I’ve read about how previous tariff implementations led to job losses in some sectors and price hikes for consumers. I can’t help but worry that history will repeat itself, and this time it will come at the cost of my family’s stability.
Please stand up against these dangerous tariff policies. We need leaders who prioritize economic stability and the well-being of everyday Americans over reckless trade moves.
Thank you for listening to a concerned mother who just wants to be able to keep food on the table and hope in her children’s future.
