send to state attorneys general, governors, FERC, and the FBI: --- Subject: Request for Full Audit and Transparency of U.S. Electricity Sector Revenues and Tax Remittances To the Honorable ,State Attorneys General, Governors, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and U.S. Secret Service: I am writing as a citizen and ratepayer respectively demanding a comprehensive, public audit of the U.S. electricity industry, from the largest utilities down to local brokers and subsidiaries. My concern stems from a personal experience of being double billed 300 dollars and left with unaddressed service issues. That incident led me to examine the broader taxation numbers, and they do not add up. Official reports state the U.S. electricity retailing market generated about 514 billion dollars in 2024. When you multiply that by the number of residential, commercial, and industrial customers paying monthly bills and associated taxes, the total tax revenue implied should be far higher than what is reported at federal and state levels. I am requesting the following: 1. A county by county accounting of all meters served, broken down by residential, commercial, and industrial, for every utility and broker operating in each state. 2. Full disclosure of monthly and annual revenues collected by each utility, broker, and parent company, including Exelon and other major holding companies. 3. A complete accounting of all federal, state, and local taxes paid by these entities, with clear reconciliation to reported tax receipts. 4. Public release of these records in a transparent, accessible format so citizens can verify the numbers, similar to opening a book for review. No entity should be above the law, regardless of size or stakeholder influence. If individual taxpayers are audited for discrepancies of a few dollars, the same standard must apply to billionttrillion dollar utilities and their affiliates. I urge you to coordinate across states and federal agencies to open this investigation immediately. The American people deserve to see the numbers clearly and to know that the system is not being exploited and being transparent and honest and these practices should be changed to an honest accounts system
