I am writing to urge you to co-sponsor the Good Samaritan Menstrual Products Act.
Access to menstrual products is a basic health and dignity issue, yet far too many people in our communities struggle to afford these essential items. Menstrual poverty affects students, low-income families, people experiencing homelessness, and those facing unexpected financial hardship. No one should have to choose between food, rent, or managing their period.
The Good Samaritan Menstrual Products Act is a practical and compassionate step toward addressing this need. By encouraging and protecting the donation of menstrual products, this bill helps expand access through schools, shelters, food pantries, and community organizations that are already serving those most in need. It removes unnecessary barriers and makes it easier for individuals, businesses, and organizations to help.
This legislation does not impose heavy costs or bureaucracy. Instead, it empowers communities to meet a real, ongoing need with common-sense solutions. Ensuring access to menstrual products supports public health, educational equity, and workplace participation, and it helps reduce stigma around a normal biological function.
I respectfully ask that you co-sponsor the Good Samaritan Menstrual Products Act and publicly support its passage. Doing so would demonstrate a commitment to dignity, health, and equity for people across our state and country.
Thank you for your time and for your service to our community.
