No Parade for DonOld Trump’s Birthday or Any other Reason

To: Rep. Crow, Sen. Hickenlooper, Sen. Bennet

From: A constituent in Aurora, CO

May 2

Army plans for a potential parade on Trump's birthday call for 6,600 soldiers, is unacceptable for me and most of my fellow taxpayers because of these three reasons. 1.) The United States isn’t a dictatorship, in need of showing off its military strength, everyone knows we spend more on the military than anything else, that’s why we don’t have a better health care system and we have homeless veterans. 2.)When asked if the United States should have a military parade to show off its might, this was then President Eisenhower's response: Absolutely not. We are the pre-eminent power on Earth. For us to try and imitate what the Soviets are doing in Red Square would make us look weak. President Eisenhower knew that we were the global superpower and didn't need to go showing it off. A true world superpower doesn't flaunt their power by showing off, they prove their power through action. Trump’s golf trips have already cost taxpayers over, $300 million. Taking money from FEMA to protect him while he’s golfing. is inexcusable, nobody cares that he doesn’t take a $400,000 salary because that’s chump change compared to how much it costs me as a taxpayer who is disabled and on Medicaid when MAGA wants to take my money from Medicaid, SNAP and SSDI so that he can golf and live his rich lifestyle and give his rich buddies Tax cuts, while I struggle to afford the basic needs in life. He may have fooled the Maga simpletons, by the way he’s pissing them off too. Project 2025 and MAGA will never take this country to an Authoritarian Theocracy. The poor and marginalized community far outnumber the oligarchs. Most of us weren’t born with wealth and privilege, and most of us had to get a job as a preteen mowing cemeteries, delivering papers, washing dishes, selling shoes, or cleaning houses to buy our first car, go to college with student loan debt and we didn’t receive a gift of millions to start out our first business. We would give the shirt off our back to help others while billionaires hoard more wealth than they or their heirs could spend in all their lives. I am a citizen who is entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, please don’t infringe upon these rights of mine and of my fellow American citizens.
