Thank you for standing up for the American people and against the Republican plan to strip our healthcare away. In the coming days, as SNAP benefits run out, you may be tempted to cave to address the immediate need. Please don't! Please stay strong and keep the bigger picture in mind. We, the people, are doing what we can to take care of each other. We are donating to food banks and helping neighbors. It won't be perfect but we will do our part to reduce the impact on those in our communities. We need you to stay the course. Republicans want us all sick, terrified, tired and destitute, but we will not accept that fate, and you cannot give them another millimeter. They've already gone WAY TOO FAR! We see you trying but need you to try harder, be louder and stand unequivocally with us. Keep introducing legislation to address the terrible things this administration and the Big Horrific Bill are doing to us. Keep posting on social media, going on the news and making yourself available to constituents. Show us your anger and conviction and unwavering support for our rights and our dignity. Keep drawing attention to all the ways they are gleefully wasting our money ($20 billion to Argentina?!?), openly committing fraud ("donors" paying to play by destroying THE PEOPLE'S White House?!), and abusing every lever of power in every possible way (protecting PEDOPHILES! Violently disappearing people! Refusing to seat elected Democrats! Killing people on boats for no reason! Dismantling life-saving research and withholding life-saving medicine!) The American people are waking up and the next several weeks will send a jolt through communities all over this land. We cannot bail the Republicans out even as we know people are suffering. It will just create more cover for them to go further and our goal must be to STOP them. So keep trying to do the right thing. Keep SHOWING us what the Democrats want to do for the American people and Reminding us of what the Republicans ARE doing to us. And one last thing: There is NO reason to act like any of this is politics as usual. Please SHOW US with your words and deeds just how much is at stake.
