As a resident of Reston, I am writing in strong opposition to a casino in Northern Virginia. This casino is slated to go forward despite opposition from the local community. A recent poll found that 75% of Northern Virginia residents oppose a casino, for reasons ranging from traffic, inadequate infrastructure, and general quality of life. Nevertheless, lobbyists and moneyed interests are doing an end run around the wishes of the local community. I urge you to veto this bill. The local residents must have a say about whether gambling establishments are allowed into our community. Thank you.
