I am writing to urge you to use your platform as Governor to publicly demand that Congress initiate impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for what appears to be an unauthorized military incursion into Mexico. The Federal Aviation Administration's unprecedented 10-day complete ground stop at El Paso International Airport, effective from February 10 through February 20, raises serious constitutional concerns. The FAA cited "special security reasons" without providing details and designated airspace over El Paso, Texas and Santa Teresa, New Mexico as "national defense airspace" with authorization for deadly force against aircraft deemed security threats. This extraordinary measure affecting all commercial, cargo, and general aviation operations suggests military activity that has not been authorized by Congress. The Constitution grants Congress alone the power to declare war and authorize military action. If this administration has ordered military operations across our southern border without congressional approval, it represents a fundamental violation of the separation of powers and an impeachable offense. The complete lack of transparency, combined with the severity of the flight restrictions and deadly force authorization, indicates an operation of significant scale that the American people and their elected representatives have been denied the right to debate or approve. As Governor, you have both the moral authority and the responsibility to speak out when federal overreach threatens constitutional governance. Your voice carries weight in demanding accountability from Washington. I am asking you to publicly call on Congress to investigate these actions immediately and to initiate impeachment proceedings if military operations were conducted without proper authorization. The people of this state deserve leaders who will defend constitutional principles regardless of political party. Please act now to demand answers and accountability.
