Ratify ERA to prohibit gender discrimination constitutionally
To: Pres. Biden
From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV
January 11, 2025
The Equal Rights Amendment's revival and ratification as the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution is recommended in order to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity or expression. Constitutionally enshrining these protections would signify substantial progress in the ongoing equal rights movement, firmly establishing that no individual shall face discrimination or unequal treatment due to their gender identity or gender expression. Amending the Constitution to explicitly safeguard against gender-based discrimination would provide a robust legal framework to challenge inequities and advance true equality under the law for all Americans, irrespective of gender, thereby protecting the rights of LGBTQ individuals.
