I urge you to oppose H.R. 722, the bill seeking to implement equal protection for "the right to life of each born and preborn human person." Granting constitutional personhood to fetuses from the moment of fertilization would nullify the fundamental right to abortion access established by Roe v. Wade. This radical proposal undermines reproductive freedom and represents an unacceptable government overreach into personal healthcare decisions. Women's lives and wellbeing would be jeopardized by forcing pregnancies to term, including in cases of rape, incest, severe fetal abnormalities, or health risks to the mother. Please stand against this extreme attack on reproductive rights that goes against mainstream public opinion and constitutional precedent. Protect the established freedoms that Americans have relied upon for decades.
