While the house is kept deliberately in recess by its GOP majority leader, the costs to American citizens become clearer.
Texas Tribune indicates costs for healthcare in 2026 will rise by 115%; Meidas touch has a graphic of 2025 costs of $574.17 rising to $2032.18 per couple - the problem I see with these numbers is they are low. I couldn’t find coverage in 2025 in Chip Roy’s district 21 this year for two people for anywhere near as low as $574 so I’m extremely concerned, as a private business owner, that we will struggle with 2026 costs. And these projected numbers are before citizens who can no longer afford the increases have to drop their coverage altogether and pools contract for everyone causing yet higher prices. And before it has a cascading effect on hospitals and health care providers as well. And instead of working with Americans on healthcare you are shutting down Congress and running away. You’re claiming falsely that immigrants should be covered with healthcare when they’re not allowed to be - that isn’t even the issue. But Project 2025 does want to end healthcare for citizens, while Congress and senators get golden coverage.
Work for us, not against us. Come back to work.
