Vote “No” on Cloture and “No” on the Republican spending bill!

To: Sen. Justice, Sen. Capito

From: A constituent in Parkersburg, WV

March 12

The Republican Party's proposed spending bill poses a grave threat to vital social safety net programs that millions of Americans depend on for their well-being. By cutting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security in order to finance tax cuts for the wealthy elite, this legislation prioritizes corporate profits over the needs of the people. A society should be judged by how it treats its most vulnerable members, and this bill fails that test miserably. I implore you to reject this misguided attempt to dismantle essential public services and stand up for the rights and dignity of all citizens by voting against this destructive spending measure. We must protect and strengthen these programs, not gut them to further enrich the already affluent. The well-being of our nation's people should take precedence over the greed of a privileged few. As I am sure you are aware, the citizens of WV, especially Republicans, depend on these programs more than most states. Make no mistake, your choice today will mean life or death for some. I’d like you to also keep in mind that cutting these programs will absolutely be detrimental to your future careers. We are not stupid, this decision will not be able to be blamed on Biden. Choose wisely.
