House Republicans are attempting to ban gender-affirming care for minors on military health care plans by sneaking the restrictions into must-pass spending bills. This continued assault on the parental rights of military families & the basic self-determination rights of young people is a crass and craven political ploy. It will not save the military money, but it sure will let Republicans fundraise on their latest wedge issue! It is necessary not only for both House & Senate members to resist this attempt to deny basic lifesaving care to the children of those serving our country but to call it out for what it is: a slimy attempt to capitalize politically on the misery of a tiny minority of kids and teenagers. Tapdancing away from trans people as if we are radioactive and not simply people trying to live our lives and make medical decisions in concert with our doctors doesn't help Democrats: it makes you look like hypocrites and makes LGBTQIA Americans feel like our party support is taken for granted. Don't make that mistake. Deny these attacks and call them what they are.
