Please, do not allow MAGA to change the name of Social Security to something that sounds like a “federal” benefit. We’ve been paying Social Security all of our lives. It’s an investment plan that we’ve contributed to that we can access when we turn 62 1/2. Changing the name is a manipulative tactic to try to take that long-standing workers’ investment away. Once you start calling it a “benefit” it becomes something that can be taken away, something that’s deemed nonessential. Social Security is not a benefit, it’s an entitlement that we paid for.
