Reject the “Big, Beautiful Bill” — It’s Cruel, Corrupt, and a Lie

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Quakertown, PA

July 1, 2025

This so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” is nothing short of a dystopian joke — and it’s not funny. It’s an insult to the intelligence and dignity of every working American, every marginalized community, and every person who still dares to believe in liberty and justice for all. This bill is not designed to solve problems. It’s designed to scapegoat, distract, and punish. It lavishes the wealthy and well-connected with tax breaks and government handouts, while vulnerable communities are left behind — again — to suffer the consequences. This bill gives more money and power to an already-bloated deportation machine. It funds more ICE agents, expands surveillance, and paves the way for more detention centers — let’s call them what they are: concentration camps — where people have died under government “care.” There is nothing “beautiful” about expanding cruelty. There is nothing ethical about wasting taxpayer dollars to harm the very people we should be protecting. And there is nothing fiscally responsible about blowing up the deficit to enrich corporations and donors — the same deficit Republicans claimed to care about when slashing food, housing, and healthcare programs. This bill isn’t about “security.” It’s about fear-mongering, authoritarian overreach, and manufacturing crises to justify oppression. It should be laughed out of the Senate — not negotiated, not amended, not passed. Vote NO. And be on the right side of history — before there’s nothing left worth defending.
