Investigate and stop ICE from arresting and harassing people who are exercising their First Amendment rights. The right to speak, protest, and organize without fear of federal retaliation is not a privilege. It is the foundation of democratic participation, and it belongs to everyone on American soil.
When a federal agency targets people based on their speech or political activity, that is not law enforcement. That is intimidation. Communities cannot function when residents fear that showing up to a meeting, posting online, or speaking at a public hearing will bring armed agents to their door. The chilling effect is the point, and that makes it worse, not better.
Demand a full accounting of how ICE is selecting its targets. No agency should be able to use immigration enforcement as a tool to silence dissent. Protect the First Amendment by ensuring it has teeth against federal overreach.
