STOP TRUMP and VANCE from threatening the federal judiciary and the rule of law

To: Sen. Kennedy, Rep. Carter, Sen. Cassidy

From: A verified voter in New Orleans, LA

March 13, 2025

I am writing you today to demand that you stand for the constitution and for the separation of powers by supporting our judges. President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Elon Musk have engaged in inflammatory rhetoric, claiming that judges have no right to adjudicate challenges to the law. They have threatened and endangered the members of the judiciary. President Trump and Vice President Vance have also violated their constitutional oath of office by refusing to follow legal court orders and persisting to violate the law precisely in the way that numerous injunctions and temporary restraining orders prohibit. This is illegal and unconstitutional. The federal courts are populated by accomplished brilliant individuals who had dedicated their lives not to the pursuit of profit but to the pursuit of justice. Under our separation of powers doctrine the judiciary serves as a legitimate check on the executive branch and Congress. Ever since 1803, when the Supreme Court decided Marbury v. Madison, this arrangement has guided the United States through many moments of crisis. Please stand up for the constitution. Reject illegal unconstitutional actions by the current administration. History is watching you. Please reply to let me know how you will uphold the rule of law and protect the judiciary.
