Transitioning to a national sales tax would require a complete overhaul of the tax system, placing an undue burden on states, businesses, and individuals. The potential for tax evasion and the creation of a black market for goods and services further undermines the feasibility of this proposal. In short, the FairTax Act is a dangerous and misguided piece of legislation that would harm the most vulnerable Americans, stifle economic growth, and create unnecessary chaos in our tax system.
