Governor Primary - Switch to Ranked Choice Voting I just submitted my ballot for the California primary. While I appreciate the wealth of choices we have in candidates, I sincerely fear that our current jungle primary system does not help our system choose the best of those options to represent and lead us. Like many other democrats in the state, I have anxiously watched the polls and have voted for the dem candidate who is polling highest in the hopes of avoiding a Republican lockout for the general. It doesn’t have to be this way. Please consider switching to a ranked choice system. This way people could vote for who they truly want to vote for, while avoiding knocking out other candidates from the same party if they happen to get more votes overall when all of the tiered rankings are tallied. I love this state and I know we will find a better way forward. Thank you for your time and attention.
