As someone who lived and worked in Florida for more than a decade, and who spent significant time in the Everglades’ backcountry, I can say with authority this Republican administration’s Alligator Auschwitz is a death camp.
With summer temperatures in the upper-90s, and humidity near 70%, the heat index will be more than 120 degrees. Inside the plastic tents it will be higher. In those conditions, it is impossible to drink enough water to remain hydrated. Anyone sent there will slowly die of dehydration and heat stroke.
Occupants will also be exposed to mosquito- and rat-borne diseases. The rat population, drawn by human refuse, will attract numerous water moccasins. Many occupants of those tents will die from snake bites.
Without a source of clean drinking water, occupants will die of cholera, typhoid and giardia.
The facility is already flooding in seasonal rain. When a hurricane passes nearby, most, if not all, occupants will die from flooding and flying debris.
This Republican administration knows all of this and is purposely sending abductees there. It is knowingly sending people, who were given no due process, to a concentration camp to die slowly and painfully.
That is utterly abhorrent and violates the values of the American people. We, as a country and a society, should be better than this. My oldest uncle fought a world war to end such atrocities. Now we are committing them. We are now the bad guys.
My wife and I implore you to do the right thing—do everything in your power to close these death camps and demand all abducted individuals be afforded their right to due process. If you do not speak out, we must assume you support the use of such concentration camps.
