Regarding new rules of the LIRR and MTA
I am a regular commuter on the LIRR, typically commuting from the city to the middle of the island about three days a week throughout the year.
The new ticketing system is causing me tremendous inconvenience, and I urge the LIRR to return to its previous rules and arrangements for purchasing and using tickets. Specifically, the inability to buy multiple tickets at a time, either on paper or through the app, gives me an extra task every day. When I am rushing to the train, or busy in the morning or while leaving work, it is a major pain to have to complete a new transaction each and every time. Ticket machines may be out of order, or there may be a line. For digital tickets, I usually don't have internet on the subway. There are all kinds of ways that it is inconvenient to initiate a unique transaction for every single ride.
I am an honest, longtime paying customer, and the new system makes my life and my experience with the LIRR far more difficult. Once again, I ask the MTA to revert to its previous ticketing system and rules.
