Trump reportedly packed his televised audience with supporters and soldiers chosen to “not look fat”, according to historian Heather Cox-Richardson quoting journalist Jane Coaston. Nevertheless, this kind of politicization of the military is both illegal and a deeply disturbing development. There is obviously a lot going on right now but the lack of prominent, widespread condemnation from generals and Congress needs to be rectified.
