PETITION TO BAN STABLECOIN HOLDINGS BY OFFICIALS & ENFORCE THE EMOLUMENTS CLAUSE

To: Rep. Begich, Sen. Murkowski, Sen. Sullivan

From: A constituent in Two Rivers, AK

July 14

I'm writing to demand immediate legislative action to prohibit all sitting U.S. elected and appointed officials—including the President—from owning or profiting from stablecoins and other dollar-pegged digital assets. These financial tools pose a significant conflict of interest for public officials who influence fiscal and monetary policy. Owning or trading stablecoins while in office erodes public trust and opens the door to regulatory manipulation and insider benefit. I also urge Congress to investigate whether the President has violated the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution through undisclosed or improper financial relationships involving digital assets, stablecoins, or foreign-backed cryptocurrencies. If credible evidence exists, I support immediate referral to the appropriate oversight and legal authorities. Please introduce legislation banning digital asset ownership for federal officials while in office and enforce full transparency and accountability in government financial holdings. The American people deserve leaders who serve the public—not their portfolios.
