Congress: No War With Iran: Support the No War Against Iran Act, NOW

To: Rep. Liccardo, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla

June 18

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to support the No War Against Iran Act, just introduced in the Senate Congress must exercise its sole constitutional authority over authorizing military force and prevent another disastrous Middle East conflict. The No War Against Iran Act prohibits spending federal funds for military action against Iran absent explicit Congressional approval, with a narrow self-defense exception. A war with Iran would be ruinous. Congress needs to listen to the American people, not Netanyahu. Netanyahu's strikes on Iran violate international law, undermine nuclear negotiations, and risk escalating into a catastrophic regional war. If the United States gets involved, this reckless and undeclared war threatens countless civilian lives, would cost trillions more dollars, and jeopardizes U.S. troops in the region. Congress's must assert its proper role, preventing the President from unilaterally embroiling America in Netanyahu's war of choice against Iran without obtaining legislative consent as mandated by the Constitution. This legislation upholds democratic principles, promotes de-escalation, and averts another destabilizing Middle East. Vote YES, Prevent another war.
