Protect federal pensions for dedicated public servants

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Arrington

From: A constituent in Big Spring, TX

April 26

The proposed cuts to the federal employee pension system are concerning and risk undermining the financial security of dedicated public servants. Federal workers have forgone higher private sector salaries in exchange for modest but dependable retirement benefits after years of faithful service to our nation. Reneging on this commitment would be an injustice. I urge you to reject any efforts to diminish federal pensions, which would disrespect the invaluable contributions of civil servants and make recruiting top talent increasingly difficult. Instead, we should be strengthening retirement protections to honor the sacrifices of those who devote their careers to the public good. Preserving federal pensions is not just the right thing to do, but essential for maintaining an effective and motivated workforce serving all Americans.
