Safeguard military's nonpartisan role, prevent executive overreach

To: Rep. Doggett, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A verified voter in Austin, TX

June 11

The administration's recent actions involving the military raise grave concerns about the potential misuse of armed forces for political purposes, which undermines democratic values and civil-military norms. Deploying troops against peaceful protesters exercising their First Amendment rights is an unacceptable overreach of executive power. Likewise, staging military parades evokes disturbing authoritarian overtones contradicting our nation's traditions. We must safeguard the military's nonpartisan role and prevent its exploitation as a political prop. I insist you take a firm stand against such alarming transgressions and uphold the constitutional separation of civilian and military spheres.
