I write to you regularly about issues that are important to me and the people of Missouri and this country. Every time, literally without fail, you write back saying some manner of "thank you for contacting me, I agree the issue is important, but I am going to bow to my lord and master, Donald Trump." I may be paraphrasing the words, but not the message. Your fealty, your white Christian nationalism, and your lack of ability to stand up for the rule of law, your chosen profession, have been the biggest disappointment, followed only by the members of your party. During the shutdown, your party was willing to let children starve because you didn’t want to extend the subsidies on the ACA which are driving up your constituents' premiums by hundreds of dollars a year so they will have to choose between feeding their families and healthcare. (Because even though he promised "lower prices on day one" he hasn’t gotten any pricing down, and his tariffs are costing us a fortune.) This means when they get sick, they will inevitably go to the Emergency Room, which will cost the people even more. Our costs will go up in order for hospitals to cover the costs of the uninsured. I am a nurse, so I know how it works. What are you doing for us? That’s what I would like to know. What specifically have you done for the people of this state to make our lives better. I can’t wait for your reply.
