Please send this message to Governor Tim Walz: Subject: Request for Immediate Executive Action to Safeguard Minnesotans from Federal Civil Rights Violations Dear Governor Walz, I am writing as a concerned Minnesota resident to respectfully request that your office take immediate and proactive measures to ensure that no person—citizen, legal resident, or otherwise—is subject to unlawful detention or abduction by federal agencies within the borders of our state. The U.S. Constitution, along with the Minnesota State Constitution, guarantees due process and equal protection under the law. Any extrajudicial detainment of individuals without warrants, probable cause, or judicial oversight constitutes a grave violation of the Fourth, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments, as well as well-established case law. In the event that federal agencies act in ways that circumvent these protections, I ask that you consider the following executive measures: Directing state and local law enforcement agencies not to participate in federal operations that lack clear legal authority, judicial warrants, or demonstrable due process protections; Issuing an executive order that reaffirms Minnesota’s commitment to constitutional protections and establishes clear boundaries around interagency cooperation; Collaborating with the Minnesota Attorney General to pursue legal remedies, including injunctions, when federal actions infringe upon the civil liberties of Minnesota residents; Ensuring that no state resources, funding, or personnel are used in support of unlawful detainment practices. The state of Minnesota has both the authority and the obligation to protect its residents from constitutional violations, regardless of federal pressure. I urge your administration to act swiftly and publicly to affirm that no person within Minnesota will be subjected to unlawful seizure or detention.
