I am writing to demand immediate action to protect our constitutional rights and democratic processes through the impeachment and removal of Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi, along with concrete measures to safeguard voting rights and election integrity. Recent arrests of four Black Americans, Don Lemon, Georgia Fort, Traheen Jean Crews, and Jamael Lydell Lundy, represent a dangerous escalation in political repression. These individuals, who work as journalists, community organizers, and political candidates opposing the administration, were arrested for entering a church to protest a pastor collaborating with ICE. According to reports, Bondi and those executing these arrests defied two separate court orders. This is not law enforcement. This is political persecution designed to silence opposition before the November elections. The pattern is unmistakable. Special Counsel Jack Smith identified Trump as "most responsible" for the January 6th Capitol attack. Trump was recorded pressuring Georgia officials to "find" him 12,000 votes. Now Bondi has allegedly told the Minnesota Secretary of State that ICE would withdraw only if he turned over private voter data. These are not isolated incidents but a coordinated assault on democratic governance. I urge you to initiate impeachment proceedings against both Trump and Bondi immediately. Their actions constitute clear violations of their constitutional duties and abuse of power. Additionally, I ask that you use every available legislative tool to protect voting rights, prevent polling place closures, stop voter intimidation, and safeguard voter registration rolls from illegal purging. The administration has demonstrated it does not intend to permit fair elections. Without swift congressional action, these tactics will expand. Your constituents need you to defend the First Amendment, protect political opposition from arrest, and ensure every eligible voter can cast their ballot freely and safely. This is the moment that will define whether our democratic institutions survive or collapse into autocracy.
