Does the president have the right to crash the economy?

As a direct result of Donald Trump's tariff trade war with the world, JP Morgan recently put the likelihood of a recession at 60%. A recession would increase unemployment, reduce incomes, and create stress for families, making it harder to afford essentials like housing and healthcare while worsening long-term financial stability. This will especially impact Iowa families, farmers, and businesses who depend on international partners for their livelihoods. My question is a simple one: Why does President Donald Trump have the right to crash the American economy and ruin the lives of working American families? And if he doesn't have the right to crash the economy, what are you going to do about it?
