Congress Must Investigate Elon Musk’s Security Risks

To: Rep. Crow, Sen. Hickenlooper, Sen. Bennet

October 3, 2025

Because of its role as a key U.S. defense contractor, SpaceX executives have previously warned that money from Chinese investors could attract regulatory scrutiny from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. SpaceX is the second most valuable privately held company in the world, making its shares extremely sought after. In newly unsealed testimony, a SpaceX insider said that Elon Musk’s rocket and satellite company has taken direct investment from Chinese investors, Chinese investments in SpaceX, including one firm backed by the Chinese Communist Party. Along with the money that has gone missing since DOGE has gotten involved in our government and whistleblowers reporting that data was leaked through StarLink immediately upon uploading it from the government servers. There must be an investigation into Elon Musk’s agenda and his involvement with foreign adversarial governments, before any of his companies receive any consideration for government contracts. Any hint of wrongdoing, corruption or espionage should be investigated immediately since he has direct access to the White House, Congress and the Pentagon. His crossover to the political theater includes interests in South Africa, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, the UK, Italy and Spain with his involvement in the US election process using his influence on his social media platform and his own personal wealth to throw money into the hands of voters directly. All of these actions should be considered a red flag and conflicts of interest and possible security risks for board members or executives sitting on any company that hold government contracts, to be this closely involved in these matters. Congress must act now and investigate Elon Musk and his board members who might be involved with countries and organizations that are involved in adversarial activities and actions against the United States of America for security risks and conflicts of interest before any of his countries receive another opportunity at a government contract paid for by the American taxpayer.
