I urge you to end all U.S. military assistance to Israel, which enables the oppression and violence against Palestinians. Since the start of this year, at least 177 Palestinians, including 40 children, have been killed by the Israeli military. The recent attacks on Jenin resulted in the highest Palestinian death toll from a single operation in the West Bank since the UN began recording casualties in 2005. Thousands were displaced from the Jenin refugee camp. Settler violence against Palestinians is rising, with over 450 attacks in just the first half of 2023. Israel's demolitions of Palestinian homes, schools, and infrastructure in the West Bank and Jerusalem are forcibly displacing more families. In Gaza, the military blockade has severely restricted travel, trade, and access to healthcare, damaging infrastructure and depleting basic medicine stocks for the 2 million residents. Continued U.S. military aid to Israel enables these human rights violations and obstructs prospects for a just peace. Ending this assistance will pressure Israel to uphold international law and stop the oppression of Palestinians.
