I am heartbroken to see what has happened to our country. I refuse to believe that the majority of Americans are willing to support an autocrat with dementia and to give up our democracy, but it is clear that the GOP is no longer Republican but has fallen to the "cult of personality" know as MAGA. I am dumbfounded that so many people can be duped by Fox and refuse to see what is directly in front of them. I pray you can do as much as you can to restore honor and integrity to the Republican Party- I think the 1st thing to do is to split the party in two- real Republicans calling themselves the GOP and MAGA Republicans being separate. The 2nd thing is to uphold your oaths to defend the Constitution. You are the last bastion of defense of our democracy- remember the Alamo! (It is critical that you represent all the citizens in Texas- particularly you, Representative Williams, as you had no opponent- you are honor bound to represent everyone in your district.) The legitimacy of the election must be examined. Americans no longer have faith in our elections or our government. As much as Trump screamed "cheating" means, he and Musk cheated with the help of Russia. I fear that we will become a democracy in name only because the deck has been stacked against free, fair, representative elections or equal representation. Both of my grandfathers fought in WWII- I know they would be horrified to see what the Republican Party has become- MAGA does not represent them. MAGA does not represent America. MAGA does not represent Christ. Americans have been duped and fooled by the people manipulating Trump in his desire for attention and power. And, he is more vulnerable to this than ever before in his cognitive decline. It is more important than ever for Congress to be an independent branch of the US government. Hold firm and courageous against Musk/Russia and all the other snakey voices whispering in Trump's ear. It is not an understatement to say, "now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of our country" and "you are our only hope ObiWanKenobi." ;) Please, my prayers go with you to pull away from MAGA and reclaim the name and principles of the GOP. Thank you.
