I am writing to demand that you sign Representative Thomas Massie’s discharge petition (H.Res. 581) to bring H.R. 185 forward for consideration. This is not a question of partisan loyalty or legislative theater. It is a question of transparency, accountability, and whether you stand with the American people or with a political class that shields itself from scrutiny.
If you refuse to sign, then you are admitting—plainly—that you support the cover-up. If you sign, you acknowledge the basic truth: the public deserves open debate and a recorded vote, rather than secret maneuvering that buries inconvenient legislation.
Every day that this petition is ignored deepens the divide between elected officials and the citizens they serve. This is not Democrats versus Republicans. This is elites protecting elites versus Americans demanding fairness, honesty, and the rule of law.
Your constituents are watching. You cannot have it both ways. Either you sign the petition and prove you stand against corruption and concealment, or you reveal that you side with those who profit from silence.
Do not hide behind excuses. Do not pretend that this is “just symbolic.” Even a symbolic act of resistance matters—it separates those who stand with citizens from those who protect a broken system.
I expect to see your name on that discharge petition. Anything less is a betrayal.
