Not only did she dismiss the concerns raised by her colleagues, but she also amplified her rhetoric on social media, further spreading harmful misinformation about the transgender community. This behavior is unacceptable for a sitting member of Congress. Elected officials are entrusted with upholding the dignity of our legislative institutions and ensuring that all Americans—regardless of gender identity—are treated with respect and fairness. Instead, Rep. Mace has engaged in a campaign of targeted attacks against transgender individuals, particularly her fellow Congresswoman Sarah McBride, and has used her platform to promote division rather than unity. Her actions are not only harmful to the LGBTQ+ community but also undermine the values of respect and inclusivity that Congress should uphold. Hate speech and discrimination should never be normalized in our government, and I urge you to take appropriate action to hold Rep. Mace accountable. This may include a formal censure, removal from committee assignments, or any other measure that signals that transphobic rhetoric has no place in our democracy. As your constituent, I expect my representatives to stand against bigotry and ensure that Congress remains a place where all Americans are represented with dignity.
