I am writing to you as a furious and deeply disappointed constituent. What is happening under the authority of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a moral disgrace and a constitutional failure. Your continued tolerance of this agency makes you complicit. ICE has become a violent, unaccountable federal force that operates above the law, terrorizes communities, and leaves destruction in its wake. The deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti are not “tragic accidents.” They are the predictable result of empowering a militarized agency with sweeping authority and virtually no meaningful oversight. These were American citizens. Their lives mattered. And yet, once again, federal agents were shielded, investigations were obstructed, and accountability was avoided. This is not justice. This is state-sanctioned violence. For years, Congress has hidden behind empty rhetoric while continuing to fund and defend an agency that routinely violates civil liberties, targets vulnerable people, and escalates routine encounters into deadly confrontations. Your silence and inaction speak volumes. Let me be clear: incremental reforms are not enough. Internal reviews are not enough. “Oversight” that leads nowhere is not enough. ICE must be abolished. Completely. Immediately. If you are unwilling to stand up to this abusive system, then you are choosing political convenience over human life. You are choosing bureaucracy over justice. You are choosing cowardice over leadership. As your constituent, I demand that you: • Publicly support legislation to abolish ICE • Vote against all future ICE funding • Support full accountability for federal agents • Push for transparent investigations into deadly enforcement actions Anything less is unacceptable. I will be watching how you vote. I will remember where you stood. And so will many others in this district who are tired of seeing our government brutalize its own people and then pretend nothing is wrong. If you truly believe in the Constitution, in civil rights, and in basic human dignity, now is the time to prove it. Abolish ICE. No excuses. No delays.
