I’m writing today not out of surprise, but out of deep frustration. With the passage of the recent federal budget, you’ve once again made it clear where your priorities lie—and it’s not with everyday Americans like me.
You had the opportunity to deliver meaningful support to working families, seniors, students, and those of us barely holding on. Instead, you handed out more tax breaks and favors to billionaires and massive corporations who are already hoarding more than their fair share. While they get richer, the rest of us are left scrambling to pay rent, afford groceries, and keep up with rising healthcare and utility costs.
How do you expect people to survive when you continue to cut the very programs we rely on? You talk about fiscal responsibility while greenlighting bloated defense spending and corporate subsidies, yet somehow, there’s never enough in the budget for affordable housing, education, or accessible healthcare.
I’m tired of hearing the same tired excuses. We elected you to represent us, not the wealthiest few. We are paying attention.
