Support the New York For All Act

To: Sen. Martinez, Assembly Member O'Pharrow

From: A constituent in Amityville, NY

February 10

New York is safer when local police forces focus on local laws. We need The New York For All Act (A.5686 / S.987) to ensure that immigrants, visa holders, naturalized citizens, international tourists, and everyone on our shores enjoys the same liberty and access to law enforcement. When local police collude with the current iteration of ICE, it means that victims with accents are less likely to report crimes against them, people who care for immigrant neighbors are less likely to welcome police presence, and peace-keeping functions become indistinguishable from overreaching surveillance on behalf of the Federal Government. Please call for and support a special session of the NY Senate to pass this essential legislation and guarantee NY delivers the best potential law enforcement to its residents.
