Request for Investigation: Russian Intelligence and attack on US troops.

To: Sen. Grassley, Rep. Nunn, Sen. Ernst

From: A verified voter in Des Moines, IA

March 30

I am writing to you today as one of your deeply concerned constituents. I am asking you to take immediate action and call for a full, independent congressional investigation into recent intelligence reports that Russia shared satellite imagery of Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia with Iran — information that may have directly enabled a missile attack on March 26th that wounded 12 American service members. These are not fringe claims. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy shared this intelligence assessment with NBC News, revealing that Russian satellites photographed the base on March 20th, 23rd, and 25th — days before the attack. If true, this represents a stunning and potentially treasonous act of coordination between a foreign adversary and a state sponsor of terrorism that resulted in harm to American military personnel. What troubles me equally is the response from the White House. When asked about Russia’s possible role, President Trump did not condemn it. Instead, he dismissed it, saying Putin was “probably” helping Iran “a bit” — and offered no consequences, no outrage, and no accountability. His special envoy Steve Witkoff has stated that Putin personally assured the President that Russia was not involved. Those assurances now ring hollow. American troops were attacked. Intelligence suggests a foreign adversary helped make it happen. The President is not acting. That means Congress must. I am asking you specifically to: 1. Call for an immediate, bipartisan congressional investigation into whether Russia provided targeting intelligence to Iran ahead of this attack. 2. Demand a full intelligence briefing for members of Congress on the evidence Ukraine has shared. 3. Publicly acknowledge the seriousness of this matter and your commitment to protecting American service members — regardless of party. 4. Hold the administration accountable if evidence confirms Russia’s role went unchecked or was actively ignored. The men and women of our military put their lives on the line every day. They deserve a government that takes threats against them seriously — including threats enabled by adversaries that this administration has been reluctant to confront. I will be watching your response closely, as will many of your constituents. This is not a partisan issue. This is an American one.
