Protect Federal Employees and support of the “Protect America’s Workforce Act”

I am writing as your constituent to express my strong support for recent legislation introduced to protect the collective bargaining rights of federal employees, particularly the Protect America’s Workforce Act (H.R. 2550), introduced by Congressman Jared Golden. This legislation is a necessary and timely response to the previous administration’s Executive Order titled Exclusions from Federal Labor-Management Relations Programs, which drastically undermines the labor rights of thousands of federal employees. By significantly expanding exclusions from Chapter 71 of Title 5, this EO effectively dismantled union representation in a wide range of federal agencies under the pretext of national security. Federal employees are dedicated public servants who deserve the same rights to representation, collective bargaining, and workplace protections as workers in any other sector. Stripping these rights away not only diminishes morale and workplace fairness, but it also sets a dangerous precedent for the erosion of labor protections in public service. I urge you to support the Protect America’s Workforce Act and any other legislation aimed at restoring and safeguarding the collective bargaining rights of federal employees. Standing up for the rights of our federal workforce is a stand for democracy, transparency, and fair labor practices. Thank you for your attention to this important matter and for your continued service to our district.
