Instead, these nominees consistently used vague language to avoid direct answers, often referring to the election in terms of the Congressional 'certification' process or simply noting that Biden 'served' as President. Perhaps most alarming is that 21 out of 27 nominees gave nearly identical responses regarding January 6, dismissing it as a 'political issue' and refusing to comment further. This coordinated evasion suggests a concerning lack of independence and transparency among these potential lifetime appointees to our federal judiciary. I urge you to take immediate action to address this issue. We must demand that judicial nominees provide honest, straightforward answers about these crucial historical events. The integrity of our courts and the public's trust in our judicial system are at stake. Please work with your colleagues on the Senate Judiciary Committee to implement stricter questioning protocols and reject nominees who refuse to acknowledge basic facts about our democracy. It's particularly troubling that 15 Democratic Senators have voted for at least one of these judges despite their evasive answers. I implore you to stand firm against this trend and vote against confirming any nominee who fails to provide clear, truthful responses about the 2020 election and the events of January 6. The American people deserve judges who are committed to upholding the truth and the rule of law. Please act now to ensure that only nominees who demonstrate this commitment are confirmed to lifetime positions on our federal bench.
